Programme of walks

WFG members celebrated on 17th Jan 2010, raising orange juice in a toast to White Cliffs Ramblers’ volunteers who had provided the labour to replace what we considered to be the worst stile in Kent, with a kissing gate. WFG had appealed to, and complained frequently to KCC, about the condition of this stile (and several others nearby) and it was great to see action finally taken, with KCC supplying the materials. The old stile was situated on the top of a slope and was incredibly high as well, topping it all was festoons of barbed wire, which when added to the rickety stature, made it a force to be reckoned with! The new gate is approximately halfway between Dambridge and Wingham Bird Park, along footpath EE162. Other stiles have also been replaced with kissing gates, far more user friendly, at Dambridge and Wingham Well.
